Time and silence

I so need Sundays. Need and love. Last week was quite hard. We lost all our snow and soaked into unbelievable darkness. I had completely forgot what it is like and it was really shocking.... the girls were sick and I had more work than I could have handled.
So I needed this Sunday.  I don't mind the rain and today I find the darkness comforting. Time and silence are the most luxurious things today. Accompanied little gingerbread baking and it was a perfect day...

So if you are too tired
to speak, sit next to me,
because I, too, am fluent
in silence.

Gray scale with roses

So we have snow...! And it's been so cold it stays. Somewhat beautiful but not just enough to beat the ugly gray scale of everything nowadays. I have a soar throat and a little headache which annoys me a lot since I would have needed this weekend to enjoy. But I bought roses and I have some good reading and a blanket to help me create some harmony and joy. We even went winter swimming, the lake is already frozen! And later in the evening we'll make a fire and have a glass of wine.

that murmurs a while in
the wind and then is
heard no more...

Countdown to summer vacation

Three more days! Countdown to summer vacation. I will be here on Thursday/Friday to put up 'a month in photos' linkup. After that it might take few weeks until I get the first summer trip pictures edited. Can't wait!

a lover of rain

I'm a little sorry for my children who spent Saturday mainly inside because of the rain that continued for three days. But I'm also happy because at the moment I find rain so comforting and relaxing. There is something I just love about grey skies that I can't quite explain. Rain and a good cup of coffee made my weekend perfect. Sunday was a little better weather-wise and yes, it was to good to get out and marvel all the green around us.

Working things out today

Forgive me the space between posts. Everything around me is in a whirl... work-wise mainly.
Waking up today on Saturday with no plans whatsoever feels wonderful. I realize spring is long gone and we are living in full Summer although the wind is chill and temperatures low.
Despite the weather I wanted to take a small walk with the girls picking up dandelions and blowing the seeds in the wind... Enjoyed it. It and things like eating dinner together, snuggling, laughing, holding hands and reading books in bed. Working things out.

A month in photos {May 2016}

May was surprisingly warm, extremely beautiful and so satisfying in every way. Sad to let it go yet excited to know we have full summer ahead! Summer we've been waiting for so long...

we will run and scream
you will dance with me
we'll fulfill our dreams
and we'll be free

One of May favorites that somehow didn't make it to the collage...

Spring in slow

I'm taking time for what's important. I'm taking it slow. I'm staying inside although the sun is shining and there is so much to do outside. I'm reading six books at the same time and watching too much television. I take long walks too. I've played board games with kids and snuggled on the couch in between them. I'm enjoying long breakfasts, a cat purring on my lap and ignoring all the haste.

to the next
moment, what
happens to the
one you're in?
