Goodbye Summer

Few days ago I picked the last flowers of the season. They were so beautiful and putting them in a pot delighted me as much as the first flowers in Spring. But today was a cold day. We need to start heating and I might have to give up on cardigans and change them into a decent jacket.
So with these pictures I'm saying goodbye to Summer... fulfilled and gratefully!

If you're brave
enough to say
goodbye, life will
rewards you with a
new hello

Recovering

Over the last week things have been a great big mess at this end. I'm not getting into details but there has been many unpleasant incidents including my mother getting into hospital, work getting a little too overwhelming, cold and bad dreams... The weather is with me. Horrible rain, no sun and dangerously slippery roads. Makes me want to give up.

But weekends are for recovery and after eleven hours of sleep I'm able to see things differently and enjoy little things again. Nails, novels, silence, latte, a purring cat, tulips... a Sunday well spent brings a week of content. I'm learning how precious Sundays are when it comes to recharging and preparing my heart for the week ahead.

Midsummer Feast

This year relaxation took over celebration. Which is pretty much all the same when you start to think of it really...  So it was all about being home in the quiet neighborhood just with the family. Sunshine and rain, naps, flowers, new potatoes, cherries, sauna, the heavenly scent of birch and a good night sleep in the midnight sun...

Meanwhile... let's take a look at these lovely flowers
