A month in photos {December 2016}

This is it! The last "a month in photos" -post. This year and forever. I have no words to describe how happy and thankful I am to have had you here each month sharing your beautiful photos and making this a great linky party. But all things eventually come to their end and now it's time give up. Next year I'll be sharing my month in photos on Instagram only. Hope you'll join me there #amonthinphotos @monaspicturesque. If you wish me to follow you please leave a comment so we can connect! Should you need a template for next year, you may download the simple one I've created and will be using in 2017.

But lets take a one last look to your gorgeous collages! Here is our December

White Christmas pretty please?

Last weekend we got a little bit of snow... and now we’re losing it which saddens me greatly because I’ve longed for it so much. I mean what’s the point living up north if you don’t even get snow for Christmas. I’m sure will get plenty in February or so - at the time I would be more than ready for spring ;)

Snow or not Christmas is coming! Only few more days. I’m all ready and set. Instagram will update on daily basis - hope to see you there or here sooner or later :)

Have a very happy Christmas everyone!

Quiet living and pink hydrangea

In early September I made the decision to simplify my life as much as I can. I think I wouldn't have succeed without the horrific flu that actually forced me. It's never fun being sick but this time it thought me quite a lot. I've said no to everything, I've left most of the social stuff and stopped doing a crazy amount of things. I'm choosing carefully where to place my energy. Instead of rushing, I take a breath and slow down. Still not living the actual slow life nor meditate... but at least I had the time to shoot my pink hydrangea.

Mid-September

This is a quick hello between all the hustle. September starts with a decent flu in addition to all the work, school and hobbies. Our little one turned seven years, oh my! Time is flying with increasing pace...  I'm trying to find my balance and peace by pausing for a moment here and there. Just to take a deep breath, long shower, a big hug or a slow walk. Just pressing the shutter in a tiny moment of stillness.

I'm all behind with answering your comments and making visits! I'm hoping to get there as soon as I find time :)

A month in photos {August 2016}

August has always been a bit confusing for me... no more quite Summer not yet quite Autumn.
This year was no exception. I was already back at work, schools started in the middle and the weather's been on and off beautiful and dreadful. I've never liked things halfway and that what makes August so hard for me! I had this feeling that I haven't been doing much this month but once again looking back with my pictures made me see how special this month was. And it feels good to get to share it with you :) So I wish you all a very happy final fling with Summer and hope you're all ready to share your August with me!

Blooming trees and #mymonthlyscene from May

Lilacs are opening. Apple tree flowers are in full bloom. And the rest of the world is vibrant green. Watch my little video in the end to see the monthly scene of  May captured.

SPRING
She wore the scent of early spring on her
delicate neck and every kiss I stole tasted of
bright yellow flowers and buzzing bees.

#mymonthlyscene

I'm spending more and more time on Instagram and find it working much better than Facebook for picture sharing as well as keeping up with fellow bloggers and photographers and finding inspiration. Since attending Xanthe's Make Films Course I've shared videos as well and will be doing that in the future as well although I'm still waiting for my update that allows 30 second videos...

I love projects and as you might know it's my fifth year with "a month in photos" project. You are always welcome to join on the blog or on Instagram where you can join with #amonthinphotos hashtag.

Now inspired by Xanthe I'll start a new continuous project shooting a monthly scene and sharing it with #mymonthlyscene hashtag. And goes without saying: I would love to see you joining me!

I've always been drawn to the idea where you shoot the exact same spot or location to document the changing seasons and ongoing life. My idea is to capture just what it looks like at the moment... do the trees have leaves... is nature green, brownish or white...? Just a small glimpse to be able to look back and see the transformation. Photos of course work fine for this purpose but I'm thinking this will take it to the next level.
I'm starting this weekend and I've chosen three locations where I'm going to be shooting every month. A spot on our home street, another street we walk everyday to work, school and daycare and this certain rock near our home in the middle of a little forest.
