March mood...

Sun, rain, fog even snow. The nature cannot decide whether it's winter or spring. Just like I can't decide if I like it or not. March tends to be a very long wait for the spring. The intermediate space between seasons. I'm impatient and then not. Partly enjoy the wait. The reposeful wait before it stars to happen again. Nude tones, colorless nature, my mood that swings between boring and anxious.

Wouldn't give up on March. I would give up sneezes and tissues though....

But whatever you have planned this week and whatever the season in your part of the world, I hope you have time to breathe in the fresh air and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us!

Cold & Classic comfort

Winter holiday is over but cold and cough remains... There has been days inside, some cabin-fever... hundreds of hankies, hugs and comfort food.

A month in photos {February 2016}

In February days started to get noticeable longer! And as wonderful as it is, it makes us desperately long for spring. Also we are getting somewhat tired of winter physically and in the end of the month we have caught a flue or two... Despite of that we have enjoyed pink tulips, hopes and dreams as well as progress in personal projects. I feel I became alive after a long time and I've shot much more than in the past few months. We warmly welcome March!

Friday night six o'clock

It's the second of my two days winter holiday. The one I had planned slow, nice and quiet.
It's Friday night six o'clock as I'm writing this. Girls are playing Lego Friends with volume, listening to the music at the same time. TV is on and toys are all over the place, Minea is coughing hard and loud, our kitchen table is packed with medicines and our plans are cancelled. You know what... that's okay. Perhaps this is my slow, nice and quiet. Maybe I'll go and pour a little glass of wine.

Winter is back

Friends from all over the world are starting to share spring pictures while we are still struggling with our winter. Over the past two days we've been getting loads of snow... Next week children will have their winter holiday and they'll be enjoying it with granny and grandpa and in the end of the week with the whole family as me and hubby have few days off as well. Our deliberate plan is simple; to visit relatives and friends, spend some time together with children doing nothing much. To take it slow and give our soul a chance to catch up with our body.

The answers you seek
never come when the
mind is busy, they come
when the mind is still...

It's about friendship

When the whole world is celebrating love, Finland has a different interpretation of the 14th of February. Valentines day is here celebrated as Ystävänpäivä, Friend's day. In this day everybody is included: friends, family, neighbors, colleagues... as well as sweethearts too! May them ALL receive cards, flowers and chocolate. It's all bout friendship and I love this day!
We've been delivering loads of cards in a horrible weather and besides that spending a super cozy day at home. Baking our hearts out.

Recovering

Over the last week things have been a great big mess at this end. I'm not getting into details but there has been many unpleasant incidents including my mother getting into hospital, work getting a little too overwhelming, cold and bad dreams... The weather is with me. Horrible rain, no sun and dangerously slippery roads. Makes me want to give up.

But weekends are for recovery and after eleven hours of sleep I'm able to see things differently and enjoy little things again. Nails, novels, silence, latte, a purring cat, tulips... a Sunday well spent brings a week of content. I'm learning how precious Sundays are when it comes to recharging and preparing my heart for the week ahead.
